Pharmacodynamic
Phenol B-glucosyltransferase enzymes undergo B-glucosylation to transform prostaglandin (PG) hormone (the likely cause of dysmenorrheal) into different prostaglandins: PGE, PGA (analogues) and PGI2 (prostacyclin) which relaxes the uterus bringing down the pain/cramps. Also, the Phenol B-glucosyltransferase controls the hypothalamus hyper-secretion of prostaglandin hormones in the blood during menstruation.
